by Chris on Aug.20, 2010, under Banshee, C#, OpenVP
Well, if you’ve been waiting for some kind of stable release of OpenVP for Banshee, you will love this. OpenVP is part of the Banshee Community Extensions 1.7.4 release! Go get it, and be sure to file any bugs you come across.

It would be great if there was a setting that lets you switch between the visalizations when switching songs: Song 1 (Simple Viz), then song 2 (with spectr. analyser), song 3 (with voiceprint), … Thus a new (maybe random) viz for every trackchange. Just call it random viz and add it to the other visualizations…

I clicked on the OpenVP link above and downloaded the bz2 package, now how do i install it? The Readme file gives no info about installation process.
Is it just a matter of extracting the folder to a certain location? If so, where? I have Ubuntu 10.04 and Banshee 2.0.1

@Neil: You’ll have to compile and install the package using the standard “./configure && make && su -c ‘make install’” idiom.
